The Town of Vardaman is located in Calhoun County, Mississippi, and serves as a center of activity and commerce for area residents and visitors. The municipality is located at the intersection of Highways 8 and 341 and is less than an hour away from the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University.

The annual festival kicks off each year on the first Saturday of November with an Arts and Crafts Day. The start of the festival generates tremendous excitement and includes activities such as a 5K Run/Walk, political speaking, and various other activities. The Arts and Crafts Day commences a weeklong celebration of the sweet potato harvest, which includes Sweet Potato King and Queen beauty pageants for various ages and a myriad of other activities highlighting the community.
